Activations through Interactive Experiences

Activations help brands engage directly with their customers through unforgettable interactive experiences. This brief challenges students to design a brand activation in the form of an interactive experience in a public space, that encourages participation from the brand’s target audience.

Focusing on visual and interaction design, you will ideate, design, and prototype experiences that showcase the product of a fictional client. As part of the learning journey, you will go through an iterative process typical to client work in this area, which includes client objectives and incorporates client feedback, while balancing that with the overall conceptual goals that the activation set out to achieve.

Students will work in teams of two or three to create their proposed designed outcomes and document the process. Both will be presented on a microsite. Throughout the project, students should come prepared to build working prototypes. Technical challenges will be addressed and discussed in class to balance requirements, skills, and abilities, leading to a convincing and enjoyable result.
